No Direction Home

Again, I have fallen into a rut of being able to write anything in this blog. I may have a new direction for it. No longer a forum for my philosophic ravings of a depressed mad-man. No longer just about listing things. Those things are behind me (on this forum.) Starting with my next post, I will go the way of the Keough and hopefully put up some short stories (one a week?) to keep my energon flowing and my creativity afoat amidst this dismall world of working. I like my job, don't get me wrong. But it leaves me little time to do things like read Schopenhauer and write lengthy tirades on the human being as a synthesis.

So now, I will write hopefully somewhat intriguing stories. I will start soemtime this week. Also, your names will be changing again to fit the bill. Put in your bids for authors you love and I will probably link you up as that (No Garuntees.)

Stay tuned.

Jerzy Kosinski.

(If someone else tries to take that, I'll be shocked.... and note that I changed yours to I Buy the Drugs... and I didn't do the obvious and ask for Orwell, Hunter S Thomspon or Vonnegut.... do the rigtht thing Paul...)

That takes guts.

Vonnegut is clearly going to Stephan. And please dare tell what Jerzy Kosinski has written as I would love to check it out. No one gets Orwell. That's all me (if you hadn't noticed the blog is entitled after one of his essays... if you like Orwell, rock it out.... really great reading.)

He wrote the book and screenplay for Being There, and was hailed as the Jon Stewart / Bill Maher of his day.

i was going to say jerzy kosinski, actually. being there is one of my top 5 books of all time. the painted bird is great, too.

i just googled him since he's on my mind now, and here's a short bio about him - pretty twisted guy, but what author isn't? he's gotten some criticism too, but it doesn't really make being there or the painted bird any less enjoyable to read. seems like the full biography would be a good read too.

I've not read a single word of jackie collins.

I wanna be Madeleine L'Engle.

Anyway, on the subject of your writing. . . you're depressed, and it was showing, and it was affecting your writing (which was why I stopped linking to you--around the time when you started waxing philosophical). I want to see some bounce. Bring some energy back. Brevity is the soul of wit, right? No more long winded treatises on life or the nature of being!! They wear me out. You've got to be feeling worn out, too.
